Decades ago, Costa Rica’s government and its citizens decided to put conservation and renewable energy over profit in order to demonstrate that a tiny but mighty Latin American country like Costa Rica could be an eco-trendsetter for the rest of the world. They consciously chose to move from a farming economy to promoting ecotourism and sustainability. Thanks to this foresight, barren pastures eventually became the lush thriving jungles we now know, which support about 6% of the world’s plant and animal biodiversity. These exact values are the foundation of Osa Vive: enabling progress while also protecting these incredibly ecologically significant ecosystems in Costa Rica for the future.
